Francis Scarpaleggia is the Liberal candidate and current Member of Parliament for Lac Saint Louis, the riding he has represented since 2004.
Francis has a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from McGill University, a Master’s degree in Economics from Columbia University in New York, and an MBA from Concordia University. Professionally, he taught business administration at Dawson College and worked as a financial analyst in the private sector. He then entered the political arena and began working as senior political advisor to his predecessor in Lac-Saint-Louis, Clifford Lincoln.
Francis has made the protection of Canada’s freshwater a personal priority and has submitted motions and bills on this important issue. He has served on a number of House of Commons committees, including as Vice-Chair of both the Standing Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development and the Standing Committee on Public Safety and National Security. Francis is also a founding member of the all-party Parliamentary Committee on Palliative and Compassionate Care. He is currently the Chair of the National Liberal Caucus.
